About Ridge Rottweilers

Ridge Rottweilers is a German Rottweiler breeder located in Parma, MI. When breeding, we look for traceable bloodlines of at least 50 years. We look at family history, such as any euthanasia, how the dogs lived, and how they died, along with many other criteria.

A lot goes into the buying process here because we refuse to saturate the market with Rotts that do not meet all Orthopedic Foundation of Animals standards. All dogs come with a chip that includes all information including a registration number from the OFA.

Meet Sarah Nowicki

Sarah Nowicki has owned Rottweilers since her youth. Sarah is passionate about the breed, and she is also a German Rottweiler advocate. Once she realized there are ethical and unethical breeders, she was determined to be a breeder for the betterment of the breed. Sarah only breeds and sells the highest quality Rotts.

She has seen too many issues over the years, including dogs with health problems, dogs that bite, and dogs that are aggressive. She is determined to only breed the best. She will never sell a puppy that is not up to the highest standards.

Breeding Requirements
At Ridge Rottweilers, all dogs are fully tested. We complete a hip evaluation, elbow evaluation, cardiac exam, and ophthalmologist evaluation per The American Rottweiler Club requirements.

The American Rottweiler Club Mandatory Practices currently require that Rottweilers (born after January 1, 2008) to be bred have OFA Normal Hips (OFA Hip Certificate), OFA Normal Heart (OFA Heart Certificate), Normal Eyes (OFA or CERF Certificate); and a CHIC Certificate which requires permanent ID and published health results for hips, elbows, eyes and heart.

The ARC Mandatory Practices also require that all four of these health tests be performed at 24 months of age or older, and that the eye certificate be less than three years old at the time of breeding (or semen collection in the case of frozen semen). Rottweilers born before January 1, 2008, must have OFA certified hips (or HD-free hips as certified by foreign counterparts of the OFA) in order to be bred.

All Rottweilers are German Rottweilers; there is no such thing as an American Rottweiler.
